My buddy Shawn and I decided to go out
and try our luck fishing for early ice crappie and other panfish on
Little Green in Chisago.
The lake was mostly open water with a few bays here and there with
around 2" of ice on them. Getting to and from the spot in the
pics below meant crossing ice so thin that it would crack and several
open water patches. When the ice cracked, it wouldn't break
up. Instead, it jet out like spider webs from under the
craft. Oh what fun!! On
the way back to the landing, we created a rather large ice wake.
