After the River Cruise failure, I was a little anxious about attending
this cruise. After all, this was the big one. All of my hard
work paid off, as I didn't have any mechanical failures. Everything
worked flawlessly. The first day there, we went on a 75 mile round
trip cruise up the river. Everything went well until, on the return
trip, I jumped a sandbar that ended up being about 2 ft high. Yeah,
Oops! The Toy dove down into the water, sinking the deck about 2"
below the surface. As if that wasn't bad enough, the bottom of the
duct was also submerged, causing the prop to chop through water.
When it was all said and done, I was left with a partially delaminated
prop. Of course, being the hardy li'l Toy that it is, I made the
25 miles back safe and sound.
I don't have too many pictures from this cruise because I was too busy
having fun. It was wonderful meeting other hover enthusiast and showing
off my li'l Toy. With any luck, my 19P will be up and running for
the next big cruise. Hope to see you there! By the way, Dennis.
Even the darkness of the picture didn't tone down those shoes!
